Talers joins Reedsy
Talers joins Reedsy Studio
I’m going to stop developing new features for Talers.
After a mutual agreement with Reedsy, I’m joining the Reedsy team to work on Reedsy Studio. Together, we’ll combine our efforts to try to create the best possible writing app experience for authors.
Building Talers alone has been an incredible journey, but also a demanding one. Carrying such an ambitious project as a solo founder required a huge amount of time and energy, and I couldn’t move as fast as I wanted to. By joining Reedsy, I hope to bring everything I’ve learned from Talers into a larger team with the same ambition: helping authors write, shape, and publish their stories.
Why Reedsy?
What I love about Reedsy is its philosophy.
Before being a writing app, Reedsy is first and foremost a platform for creating beautiful books. Books you can be proud to hold in your hands, place on your shelf, and share with the world.
Reedsy connects authors with professional editors, marketers, designers, and publishing experts. Unlike some publishing platforms that rely heavily on AI-generated covers and automated workflows, Reedsy gives special care to each book, making sure every story has a unique, creative, and human identity.
I’m proud to join their team, and I hope that together we’ll build beautiful tools for literature.
What does it mean for Talers?
Talers will continue to run as it does today. The free plan and the PRO plan will both remain available, but no new features will be developed.
However, I’ll continue to support critical issues, such as login problems or lost documents. I want people who love Talers to be able to keep using it safely.
One final change will also be made to the AI agent:
The default AI model will become much smarter and better at proofreading, editing, and writing.
It will be limited to 10 messages per day on the free plan.
The goal is to avoid losing too much money on free users, so that the people who love Talers can continue using the app. If you want to use the AI agent (almost) without limits, you can subscribe to the PRO plan.
One last word
I want to thank you for trying Talers — and even more if you use it every day.
My goal was simple: to create a writing app that authors around the world would fall in love with. It has been four years of hard work, stress, and joy: the excitement of bringing other people into the project; the stress of sleepless nights from midnight to 7 a.m. fixing bugs; and the reward of reading messages from some of you saying that you “can’t write without Talers anymore.”
Thank you to all of you, and to everyone who worked with me, directly or indirectly, on this project.
Don’t stop writing.
