Incoming November 2025 update
Exciting news coming for this November! A major Talers update will be live just in time to kick off your NaNoWriMo in the best conditions, including:
Character sheets (your most requested feature!)
Stability improvements (details below)
Contextual AI that knows about your project to answer your questions — always with your privacy protected
…plus a special surprise that I’ll reveal at the end of October 🎁
As always, a brand-new NaNoWriMo badge will be waiting for you if you take on (and complete!) the challenge.
And here’s even better news: all Talers Pro features will be free to use throughout November — including the brand-new ones. It’s the perfect time to unlock your full writing potential.
Character sheets
You asked, I listened—character sheets are on their way. With the upcoming release, you’ll be able to use a simple, intuitive template to bring your characters to life and keep track of every detail that makes them memorable.
Need a spark of inspiration (or just a fun twist)? You can even generate random characters with a click. Here’s a challenge: generate five at once and write a story about them.
Stability fixes
A rare issue could sometimes cause content to disappear — fixing this has been my top priority. Development had to slow down over the past year, so I wasn’t able to address it as quickly as I wanted, but the upcoming update will resolve it.
If you’ve experienced this problem, please don’t hesitate to reach out by email. You can always recover your texts in the Archives section.
Contextual AI
Ever asked ChatGPT or Gemini a question, only to spend half your time explaining your project first?
With the upcoming update, Talers introduces a new assistant panel. You’ll be able to brainstorm ideas, ask questions, or request rewriting suggestions — all with an AI that already understands the context of your project. Think of it as your personal writing companion.
Fear not about your privacy: Talers only works with trusted AI providers that guarantee your data will never be used to train their models. You’ll also be free to choose the provider and model that suits you best—from open-source options (the default) to OpenAI, Mistral or Gemini.
A quick word about my take on AI:
I believe AI can be used well or poorly, and that it’s not my role to tell you how. Talers exists first and foremost to help you write, and to make the experience as enjoyable as possible. Whether you avoid AI entirely, use it sparingly, or rely on it daily is completely up to you. AI is just a tool — the creativity and direction will always come from you.
Trying the pro features on November
Talers will always offer a free plan, giving you everything you need to create amazing projects. But if you want to take your writing to the next level, the Pro features make it even easier: advanced corrector, high AI usage, a dictionary with synonyms, antonyms, and rhymes, plus translation tools.
During November, all these features will be free to use — so dive in and try it!
The only difference from the full Pro plan is that the most advanced AI models won’t be available.
