Installing Talers on Linux

You can install Talers on Linux very easily, whatever your distribution (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, etc.). You can do this in two different ways:

  1. Using the WebApps application

  2. Using a Chromium-based browser

Installing Talers with WebApps

If you have the WebApps application, you can turn any website into an application. All you need is a URL and an icon.

  1. Download the Talers app icon at https ://talers.io/logo/talers-pwa-512.png

  2. Open the WebApps application and press the "+" button:

  1. Add the following information and select the previously downloaded logo :

    • Name Talers

    • URL https://talers.io/app?standalone=true

    • Browser Chromium

  1. Press "OK" and your application is installed!

Installing Talers from a browser

All you need is a Chromium-based browser such as Brave, Chromium, Edge, Opera or Vivaldi.

Just follow these 5 steps:

  1. Open a Chromium-based browser

  2. Go to talers.io if you haven't already done so

  3. Click on the browser menu:

  1. Select "Install Talers":

  1. Click on "Install":

That's it! Just wait a few seconds for the installation to finish, then you can launch the Talers application from Linux.
